Company

Hiring decisions should rest on the candidate’s own work.

Clevid is a proctored assessment platform. Companies build and review tests in a web console; candidates take them in a desktop client that locks the workspace, records the room, and closes cleanly afterwards. What software cannot see, a person reviews.

01 · How We Build

Four decisions we will not trade away.

Lock the machine. Watch the room. Let a person decide.

Software controls the device and records the camera. It cannot see a phone on a shelf. So every flag goes to a human reviewer, and the candidate can appeal. Three layers, each honest about what it covers.

The buyer never installs anything.

HR works in a normal web console — create, invite, review. Only the candidate installs the client, and it runs only while the test is open.

Evidence over accusation.

A result is Verified only when the recording covers the whole attempt. Missing coverage is stated on the report. Nothing is inferred into a penalty.

Candidates are users too.

A plain notice before recording, a receipt of what was accessed, free practice in the real client, and courses that make the test passable on merit.

02 · Our Story

Built from first principles for trustworthy technical hiring.

Browser-based tests were never designed to verify what happens outside a single browser tab. We built Clevid around a dedicated desktop application paired with timestamped video evidence and human review—closing the blind spots of browser tabs while respecting candidate privacy.

  • 01Dedicated desktop workspace that closes completely after the exam — no permanent system software.
  • 02Server-side timing and grading; the candidate’s computer clock is never trusted.
  • 03Every reviewer action is audited, every view of a recording is logged.
  • 04Say “dramatically reduces and detects”. Never say “impossible”.
  • 2025Desktop workspace R&DDesigned a lightweight desktop workspace to detect floating AI overlays, secondary displays, and virtual machines without installing permanent background software.
  • 2026Platform launchShipped the Clevid Desktop Client, HR Console, question banks, and synchronized evidence timelines for engineering & campus hiring.
  • NowFull-stack assessmentsMulti-language coding, MCQ, short answer, and typing assessments with per-candidate papers, side-by-side video playback, and human review.
  • NextExpanded ATS & OS tiersDeeper Workday and Greenhouse pipeline automation alongside expanded macOS and enterprise compliance controls.

04 · Philosophy & Approach

Why we built a native assessment client from the ground up.

Every technical hiring team has felt the shift. Over the past two years, browser-based coding assessments stopped predicting interview performance. Candidates began arriving at final rounds unable to explain the exact solutions they submitted forty-eight hours earlier.

The reason is structural, not mysterious. A browser tab is isolated from the rest of the computer by design. It cannot see a second monitor, it cannot see a live screen share, and it cannot see an invisible AI assistant floating directly on top of the test questions.

We built Clevid’s dedicated desktop app to close that blind spot without crossing the line into invasive spyware. It runs like a normal application only while the test is open, checks display and camera readiness before the clock starts, and links every integrity alert directly to the matching moment of webcam video.
