Assessment Builder & Scoring Rules

Configure multi-section assessments, custom timing rules, negative marking, and proctoring settings in the Clevid HR Console.

The Assessment Builder (/dashboard/assessment/create) lets engineering managers and university recruiters assemble structured evaluations in minutes.

Assessment structure

Every Clevid assessment consists of three layers:

  1. Metadata & Window: Title, role track, total duration (in minutes), invitation expiry window, and passing score threshold.
  2. Question Mix & Sections: A combination of Multiple-Choice (single or multi-select) and Coding problems drawn either directly or from reusable Question Banks.
  3. Proctoring & Workspace Policy: Pre-test readiness checks, camera/screen recording toggles, and single-monitor rules.

Scoring & grading mechanics

Clevid computes candidate scores automatically as soon as the session is submitted or the timer expires:

Question FormatGrading MethodPartial Credit Support
Single-Select MCQExact match against the correct optionNo (100% or 0%, optional negative marking)
Multi-Select MCQAll required options selected without incorrect selectionsOptional proportional credit per correct option
Coding ProblemWeighted sum of passed sample + hidden test casesYes—each test case carries an explicit point weight

Choosing a proctoring profile

Different hiring stages require different balances between convenience and strictness:

ProfileBest ForWhat It Enforces
Standard ProctoringMid-senior remote engineering screensDesktop app required, webcam + screen recording enabled, logs focus switches
High-Assurance Campus DriveUniversity placement drives & large cohortsSingle monitor required, blocks floating overlays, blocks virtual machines, strict focus lock
